About Cogs AI

Cogs is a mental wellbeing app crafted exclusively by and for the neurodivergent community to address daily inequalities and help users navigate their daily lives. The primary focus of the app is to help individuals avoid neurodivergent burnout and develop positive wellbeing habits tailored to their unique neurobiology. Cogs assists users in identifying their personal "burnout signs"β€”the specific behaviors and thought patterns that emerge when energy levels are low. By tracking these signs daily, the app visualizes energy levels, indicating when a user is capable of taking on the day or when they should prioritize self-care. It replaces vague advice with practical, five-minute tools grounded in special education, occupational therapy, and the lived experiences of neurodivergent people. These tools include guided reflections, movement, breathing exercises, and "stimming" practices designed to aid self-regulation and maintain mental wellbeing. Developed by co-founders Zareen Ali and Felix de Grey in 2021, the app actively engages diverse voices across the neurodivergent spectrum to ensure its technology remains useful and usable for those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other conditions. Accessible on both iOS and Android, Cogs serves as a pocket-sized ally for self-advocacy, helping users understand and communicate their needs in a world not always designed with them in mind.
