Omdena is a collaborative platform for building AI products that solve real-world social, environmental, and economic problems. The platform operates on a unique model of "collaborative AI," where global teams of data scientists, engineers, and domain experts come together for eight-week "AI Innovation Challenges." These challenges are designed to take a data science project through its entire lifecycle—from problem scoping and data collection to model deployment. Since its founding in 2019, Omdena has powered over 750 projects across diverse industries, including renewable energy (solar panel placement), public safety (harassment reporting), and healthcare. The organization aims to democratize AI by providing opportunities for engineers of all backgrounds to upskill themselves while working on impactful projects. For organizations, particularly startups and NGOs, Omdena offers a scalable way to build high-quality AI products that put people first. The platform also features a "Human-Centered AI" approach, ensuring that every solution is built with empathy and direct community feedback. By 2030, Omdena envisions upskilling over one million people and impacting one billion lives through its collaborative ecosystem.
