Google Crowdsource is a micro-tasking platform developed by Google to enhance its various AI-powered services through human intelligence. Launched in 2016, the app allows users worldwide to complete simple tasks that help train machine learning algorithms. These tasks include Image Label Verification, where users confirm if a picture contains a specific object; Sentiment Evaluation, where they judge the emotional tone of a sentence; and Handwriting Recognition, which helps improve Gboard’s transcription capabilities. Other tasks involve translation, audio validation, and identifying landmarks in photos. By engaging a global community of contributors, Google can gather diverse, real-world data that reflects various languages, regions, and cultures, thereby making its products more inclusive and accurate for everyone. Contributors earn badges and level up as they complete more tasks, often gaining access to exclusive community events or Hangouts with Google employees. The platform is accessible both as an Android app and through a web interface, serving as a key source of human-verified data for Google Translate, Maps, and Photos.
